**Status:** Complete (2026-09-24). Replaced the version-1 loader with the ConfigKit
schema-2 model, selected overlays, typed secret references, final role inheritance,
and retained domain validation. Pinned both libraries and Go 1.25.5, and aligned
the release build image. `go test ./internal/core/config` and `git diff --check`
passed. `go test ./...` currently fails in old CLI, validator, and diagnostic
callers of removed fields; those connections are assigned to later stages.
**Depends on:** the completed prototype only.
**Owns:** root `go.mod`/`go.sum`, `internal/core/config`, and config tests.
